Buzz into the market: weekly pollinator paradise awaits you
Looking for a unique way to spend your day? Visit the weekly Inglewood pollinator park market every Tuesdays, 4 p.m.- 8 p.m., from May 14 to Oct 29, 2024, located at 9th St. and 9th Ave SE, Calgary.
You can enjoy a vibrant array of local goods, learn more about their products and support the small creatures that make an impact. Supporting cottage industries can make a big difference in the country’s economy. This ensures that the money stays inside the country and is used for the betterment rather than buying imported products. The sole purpose to organize these weekly markets is to support the small businesses.
“For the people taking part, it gets your product out so that people can engage firsthand and talk to you instead of looking through pictures online,” said Jayne Powlusko, a vendor specializing in Tarot reading.
Just walk in every Tuesdays and enjoy the beautiful night out with your friends and family to fuel your market needs. You also get to see a variety of indigenous products, fresh produce and handicrafts put up every week.
Some vendors took part for the first time and had mixed feelings. Shivangi being one of them said, “I think this is a great location because it’s near downtown, so everyone can enjoy, and it is great opportunity for local homemade products because street market selling is a growing industry.”
It would be more helpful if the organisers provide a tent, table, and some basic amenities to the vendors taking part in it.
When asked, a few vendors said that they wanted to try weekday markets instead of weekend markets as it all depends on the weather, the time of the year and on the location.
Advertising well and sending personalized invites can make a huge impact for weekly or monthly markets. Having some fun activities like face painting, henna art and some free goodies can draw mass attention. It will help the market grow and gain more popularity. It offers an opportunity for residents to engage in sustainable shopping.
The market is a vibrant space dedicated to supporting local artisans and eco-friendly vendors. It features an array of stalls offering various products to shop from. Weekly or monthly markets are a dream come true for shopkeepers, who get a platform to showcase their talent and culture. It is an initiative that will inspire other communities to adopt similar models promoting the ethnic goods.
